Julie Duff was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Newfoundland in 1988. Through the vibrant art community here and instruction of many talented artists a passion evolved to capture the soul of surrounding landscapes, primarily in the acrylic and watercolour mediums.
By combining a colourful expressive style with imagination, memory, and a strong sense of light and shadow Julie is able to transport viewers to a scene of beauty and tranquility inspired by nature.
Her favorite artists are the impressionists, particularly Monet. She has participated in several painting excursions and workshops from Paris to Maine to Ferryland. Julie was a past executive member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Art Association.
