Andrea Ennis
Andrea Ennis learned rug hooking from her mother. At first adapting existing patterns to create geometric designs, but very quickly creating her own designs and hooking somewhat abstract images in vibrant colours using mixed fabrics, mostly recycled cotton and wool.
Her first exhibit experience was Spring Thaw at the Five Island Art Gallery in May 2006. That was quickly followed by a collaborative piece in Traditions in Transition an exhibit that ran from June to August at the Sir Wilfred Grenfell Art Gallery and at The Rooms from November to January 2007.
Sleepy Cove is a 5' x 7' wall hanging of 80% traditional rug hooking and 20% oil painting.
